History
Tissot was founded in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot in Le Locle, Switzerland. The original Visodate appeared in 1953 for Tissot's centenary — its name a portmanteau of "vision" and "date," referencing its innovative date window. Heritage reissues in the 2010s became cult favorites, delivering vintage dress-watch aesthetics with a Swiss automatic movement under K, earning it the title "king of value" in the entry-level Swiss automatic segment. For many collectors, the Visodate remains the best proof that Swiss mechanical watchmaking need not be a four-figure luxury.
