Description

The Mark XX is IWC's essential pilot's watch — clean, thin, and purpose-built. For the 20th anniversary of the Le Petit Prince collaboration, IWC releases two Mark XX editions: a stainless steel IW328221 and an 18-carat 5N gold IW328301. Both feature the deep blue sunray dial that has defined the Le Petit Prince collection since its inception, and both carry the calibre 32112 with an impressive 120-hour (5-day) power reserve.

Design

At 40mm and just over 10mm thin, the Mark XX is one of IWC's most wearable pilot's watches. The steel version (IW328221) has white printed indices and gold-plated Super-LumiNova hands on the blue sunray dial. The gold version (IW328301) elevates everything: applied 18K 5N gold indices, gold-plated hands, and the warm rose-gold case creates a luxurious contrast with the deep blue. Both come on blue rubber straps with the EasX-CHANGE quick-change system. The caseback on each features the Little Prince engraving.

What's Exciting About This Watch

The 120-hour power reserve from a movement this thin is the technical headline. You can take off the Mark XX on Friday evening and strap it back on Monday morning without missing a beat. The 40mm × 10mm proportions make it disappear under a shirt cuff — this is a true everyday watch. The gold version with applied indices offers a level of finish that punches well above its weight class. For collectors who want a pure, no-nonsense Le Petit Prince pilot's watch without chronograph or calendar complications, the Mark XX is the definitive choice.

History

The Mark lineage stretches back to the original Mark XI military watch of the 1940s. The Mark XX represents the latest evolution, and the Le Petit Prince treatment turns a tool watch into something with soul. The 20-year anniversary timing makes these particularly collectible — they mark a milestone in IWC's longest literary partnership.
