History
Squale was founded in 1946 by Charles von Büren in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, specializing in dive watch cases for other brands during the golden age of underwater exploration. Through the 1950s–70s, Squale cases found their way onto divers' wrists through partnerships with Blancpain, Doxa, and others. This behind-the-scenes heritage gives Squale authenticity few dive brands can claim — their cases were literally battle-tested in the deep. With the Sub-37, Squale steps into the spotlight to celebrate its own remarkable contribution under its own name.
