Description

Lorige's BL-Endurance Evolution Bleu Asphalte Gold Edition is the third Endurance from the French motorsport-obsessed independent — and the most refined yet. Presented during Time to Watches 2026 in Geneva, this 10-piece edition fuses Lorige's patented carbon/carbon brake-pad composite with 5N rose gold accents, taking direct visual cues from the Heart of Racing Valkyrie AMR-LMH livery. It is one of the most authentic motorsport-inspired watches ever produced, because the carbon in the case did not come from a parts catalogue: it came from a car that finished on the podium at the 2025 Petit Le Mans.

Where most "racing" watches lean on logos, Lorige builds the actual physics of the sport into the case. The brand has spent the past decade refining a recipe for re-pressing used carbon-carbon brake pads into wearable architecture — and the Bleu Asphalte Gold edition is the first to dress that brutally functional material in the kind of finishing usually reserved for haute horlogerie.

This is a watch for the collector who already owns the obvious ones and wants the story nobody else has on their wrist.

Design

The case is a vast 50 mm × 42 mm tonneau, machined from Lorige's patented carbon/carbon composite. Every Bleu Asphalte Gold case carries trace fibres from the AMR-LMH prototype that ran the 2025 Petit Le Mans. The bezel, caseback, strap lugs and sub-dial surrounds are 5N rose gold, providing warm contrast against the matte black carbon weave. The dial is multi-level — almost architectural — with blackened surfaces, blue Arabic numerals, and blue lacquer accents that mirror the Valkyrie's race livery exactly. White Super-LumiNova is applied to the hands and indexes for legibility on track. The watch is fitted to a black rubber strap with a titanium folding clasp.

What's Exciting

The case material is the headline. Lorige's patented carbon/carbon composite is not an industrial slab cut to size — it is brake pads that have already done their job at the highest level of endurance racing, re-pressed into wearable form. The traceability is direct: every Bleu Asphalte Gold case can be linked back to the Heart of Racing Valkyrie AMR-LMH that finished on the podium at the 2025 Petit Le Mans. That is genuine motorsport DNA in a wristwatch, not a sponsor logo.

The other story is calibre LOR-DB02. Developed in collaboration with Chronode — one of Switzerland's most respected movement specialists, with credits across MB&F, Hublot and HYT — this in-house manual movement is purpose-built for Lorige's tonneau case and gives the brand its first fully proprietary calibre. Combined with rose gold dressing on the brand's most aggressive case, the Bleu Asphalte Gold becomes one of the most authentic motorsport timepieces released in 2026.

History

Lorige was founded by French racing engineer Florent Lorenzo as a project to translate the materials and engineering of endurance motorsport into wristwatches. The first BL-Endurance launched in 2022 in collaboration with Peugeot Sport, using carbon from the 9X8 hypercar's brake pads. The follow-up BL-Evolution series introduced the smaller case sizes and the Hyperblack and Bleu Asphalte colourways. The Bleu Asphalte Gold edition takes that programme to its logical conclusion — using carbon from the most recent Valkyrie AMR-LMH campaign, dressing it in 5N rose gold, and limiting it to 10 pieces. It also marks Lorige's transition from third-party movements (early Endurance models used a sourced base) to an in-house calibre developed with Chronode.
