IFL Watches, the Swedish customiser turned collaborator known for its hand-painted dials, has teamed up with Perrelet for the Weekend GMT Atlas: a 50-piece edition of Perrelet’s 39mm travel watch on which every dial is painted by hand into a miniature world atlas. At the centre sits a compass-rose world map in marine blue; around it, a crisp white 24-hour scale; and on the outer ring, four hand-painted travel vignettes — a scarlet macaw in rainforest, a palm-lined shore, arctic peaks, and desert pyramids. Each of the 50 dials is individually painted, so no two are identical.
Underneath the artwork this remains a serious travel watch: Perrelet’s in-house calibre P-401 automatic GMT with an independently adjustable 24-hour hand, a 39mm steel case under 10mm thick, and a seven-row steel bracelet. It went on sale 27 July 2026 at US$2,990 excluding taxes.
Design
The 39mm stainless steel case measures 9.61mm thick and 47.3mm lug-to-lug — compact, wearable dimensions that have made the Weekend line Perrelet’s daily-wear anchor. The sapphire crystal sits over the hand-painted marine-blue dial; a date window sits at 3 o’clock; the screw-in caseback combines steel and sapphire to show the movement. The seven-row bracelet (20mm, butterfly clasp) dresses the watch up, while the painted scenes — macaw, beach, arctic, pyramids — give each cardinal quadrant of the dial its own continent-hopping mood. It is unapologetically playful, aimed at the collector who wants art on the wrist without giving up mechanical substance.

What's Exciting
Hand-painted dials at this price point almost always mean printed “artisanal” effects or four-figure premiums; getting 50 genuinely brush-painted, individually unique dials on a watch with a true in-house GMT calibre for under US$3,000 is a rare equation. The P-401 matters here — Perrelet is one of the oldest names in watchmaking with real manufacture credentials (its parent, Festina Group, owns movement maker Soprod, and the P-400 family is Perrelet’s own COSC-grade architecture), so the Atlas is not a fashion collaboration wearing a generic engine. History
Perrelet traces its lineage to Abraham-Louis Perrelet, the 18th-century Le Locle watchmaker credited with inventing the self-winding pocket-watch mechanism around 1777 — a fitting ancestor for a brand whose modern identity is built on rotors and automatics. The contemporary company, part of Festina Group since 2004, introduced the P-400 family of in-house calibres in 2019 to move beyond its double-rotor Turbine novelty era. IFL Watches began as a customisation studio in Sweden and has evolved into an official collaborator for brands seeking hand-painted artistry at production scale; the Weekend GMT Atlas is their latest official co-signed edition, announced 27 July 2026.
