Description
Bremont has followed up April's relaunch of the Supernova collection with a limited edition that ties the line's space-exploration theme to one of science's most famous names. The Supernova Hawking Limited Edition, announced on 16 July 2026, is the brand's second watch made in collaboration with the family of physicist Stephen Hawking, and the first special edition built on the new Supernova platform.
Where Bremont's earlier Hawking piece was a white-gold dress watch, this one goes fully the other way: a 41mm blacked-out sports chronograph with genuine meteorite sub-dials, a solar-array-inspired dial and the Bekenstein–Hawking black-hole entropy equation printed above the date. It is limited to 600 pieces and goes on sale on 26 July 2026 at GBP 7,950 (USD 8,850 on rubber, USD 9,150 on the bracelet).
Design
The angular case is 904L stainless steel treated with an ultra-black DLC coating, using the layered construction that recalls Bremont's signature Trip-Tick architecture. It is topped by a black ceramic bezel, brushed across the top with polished facets around the edge, and the crown screws down for a 100m water-resistance rating. The dial is a black galvanic geometric grid whose interlocking triangular pathways are inspired by the solar arrays on spacecraft, drawing the eye toward the centre.
The two chronograph sub-dials are cut from real meteorite, set with black surrounds and printed indices. Applied triangular hour markers and rhomboidal black-gold hands are filled with Super-LumiNova that glows blue, and a white-tipped central chronograph seconds hand sweeps over a printed tachymeter. Above the date at six o'clock sit Hawking's name and his entropy equation. Flip the watch and the sapphire display caseback carries a printed black-hole motif — a quiet nod to Hawking Radiation, his discovery that black holes emit energy and evolve.

What's Exciting
The meteorite is the honest headline here, not the celebrity name. Any brand can print a famous signature and an easter-egg caseback onto an off-the-shelf chronograph and call it a tribute; what earns this one its keep is that the two sub-dials are cut from actual meteorite and the dark, geometric dial is a real piece of design rather than a decal. It has to be, because the engine underneath is a Sellita SW500 — an excellent 7750 alternative, chronometer-rated and properly upgraded with a Glucydur balance and Nivaflex mainspring, but not a manufacture movement. At GBP 7,950 the pitch is narrative and finish, not calibre, and on both counts Bremont under Davide Cerrato is finally landing the punch it has been swinging for years.
History
Bremont, founded in 2002 by brothers Nick and Giles English, spent its first two decades building a British identity around aviation and military tool watches. The arrival of Davide Cerrato as CEO — the man behind Tudor's Black Bay and Montblanc's 1858 line — has pushed the brand toward a cleaner, more design-led direction, seen in the updated Altitude and Terra Nova collections. The Supernova, launched at Watches & Wonders 2026, is the sportier, space-themed pillar of that reset. This is the second time Bremont has worked with the Hawking family: the first, a white-gold Hawking edition, honoured the physicist's life; this one reframes that relationship through the revamped Supernova and Hawking's specific work on black holes.
